Bruce is the founder and current president of Veggie Village Community Gardens Inc at Peregian Beach. His quest for knowledge of vegetable growing and community care led him to start the garden nearly 18 months ago. Since then he has completed a PDC (Permaculture Design Course) and has helped set up several home gardens throughout the Sunshine Coast including his own suburban backyard at Marcus Beach.
His graphic design and marketing background allows him to easily present education material in a clear and graphical style.

Janet Millington
Role: Permaculture designer and teacher.
M.Ed.C.A., Grad. Dip Ed., Dip Permaculture Design and Diploma Permaculture.
Involvement with Permaculture began when Janet developed Environmental Study Programs in schools in south-west Sydney in the late seventies. This work led to the study and implementation of Permaculture solutions in the early eighties. Although working in Permaculture from “Permaculture One and Two” and the “Designer’ Manual” , she did her first course with Geoff Lawton in 1995 and then one with Bill Mollison in 1997.
Janet and Mick Millington have designed and implemented a Permaculture design on their 35 acre property, incorporating Bamboo plantation and Farm Forestry. The property has a productive home garden, small animal systems, orchard, food forest as well as restoration of riparian zones. Permaculture courses have been run from the farm in Eumundi for the past ten years.
Janet has been a director of both the Permaculture Institute and Permaculture International and a committee member of Permaculture Noosa. She co-founded the Sunshine Coast Energy Action Centre with Sonya Wallace and is very active in the Transition Towns Movement.
Janet wrote “Outdoor Classrooms…A Handbook for School Gardens”, with Carolyn Nuttall and presents seminars to teachers wishing to set up and fully utilize a school garden in the curriculum. Visit website
Alan Atkinson
Role: Design & Construction
Associate Alan Atkinson is a permaculture consultant and designer. His career includes community garden design and construction, TAFE horticulture educator, permaculture design and construction of gardens ranging from suburban blocks to large acreage.
Cath Manuel
Role – Personal Assistant to Bruce Molloy, Edible Schoolyards Program, Edible Garden Parties and Professional Development for teachers
Cath holds a Diploma of Horticulture and has completed a Permacuture Design Course as well as many workshops on Permaculture and organic food growing.
She also works at a state high school as the School Community Gardens Co-Ordinator working with the high school students.
Cath’s interest are in teaching school students and teachers in all aspects of sustainability as she believes this is where our futures is. She is also interested in plants and their uses.
Cath lives at Lake Macdonald on a 3 ½ acre property with her husband Paul and boys Edison and Archey and they are all involved in their sustainable way of life.
Anne has been involved in organic gardening practices for many years and is involved with school gardens as the Veggie Doctor. She delivers workshops for Edible Landscapes at local libraries, schools and community gardens.
Anne publishes a monthly community newsletter about Sunshine Coast-based food and garden events and has qualifications in Sustainable Agriculture and Horticulture. Anne is the Coordinator for Eudlo Seed Savers group, is an active member of Slow Food Sunshine Coast Hinterland and Transition Town Eudlo and is a member of Biological Farmers of Australia.
She practices Permaculture principles, biological farming and has a productive organic garden on her 10 acre property at Palmwoods.
Lin Martin, IndigoC
Role: Communications
Lin Martin of IndigoC is a sustainability communication specialist based on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. Her clients include: businesses, communities and agencies in the fields of resource management, environment, tourism and heritage.
Lin's background is multifaceted- across science, communication, education and photography and she has been communicating for sustainability for over 25 years.
